Historically cybersecurity was typically a reactive, passive activity. You waited until something happened and then a chain of activities kicked off—which often included wading through high volumes of alert data to identify the needle in the haystack.
As threats continued to evolve and the volume of data increased, security teams countered by building higher walls and digging deeper moats with the hope that they could keep undesirable events from happening. Everyone wanted to believe that they had the elusive silver bullet to keep from being compromised.
Today we know that there’s no silver bullet. You need to be proactive, ready to act in the moment, and be prepared for anything. Let’s be proactive and dive into cybersecurity in the New Information Age.
