According to the RightScale 2018 State of the Cloud Report, 77 percent of IT professionals say cloud security is a challenge and 29 percent say it’s a significant challenge. Despite the challenges, IT professionals understand the significant value of the public cloud. Today one-third of organizations run at least 30 percent of their workload in the public cloud. It’s estimated that more than half of all organizations will be leveraging a public cloud model within two years.
It’s never been more important to map out best practices for public cloud security. Each model of public cloud — SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS — has some unique security considerations, but this white paper will focus on IaaS model for its popularity as a starting point on many cloud journeys.
